CMS is Now ISO 9001:2015 Certified by NQA

CMS, a national leader in multifamily property compliance monitoring, announced its Quality Management System (QMS) is now ISO 9001:2015 certified by NQA, a leading global independently accredited certification body. ISO 9001 is the most widely used QMS standard in the world, with over 1.1 million certificates issued to organizations in 178 countries.

“This recognition further validates our commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in our operations,” said Carlita Alegria, CMS Director. “As we strive to ensure HUD-subsidized properties are providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to more than 24,000 low-income families, we know we are heavily relied upon to always deliver the highest quality of service and support. This effort was completed in an impressively short time frame and would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our employees to continually improve our processes and work together to serve those most in need.”

The ISO 9001 certification process began with an internal assessment of CMS’s QMS to ensure alignment with ISO 9001:2015 requirements in preparation for the two-part external audit by NQA. NQA rigorously reviewed documentation and interviewed leadership and staff to ensure process controls, day-to-day actions, and ongoing decision-making met each of the applicable ISO 9001 standards. CMS received notice of their certification on July 7, 2023, and continues to meet and exceed expectations for compliance. The organization will be subject to annual audits to maintain ISO 9001 certification.

“This is a monumental accomplishment for our organization,” said Jill Stanton, Executive Director of Bremerton Housing Authority, CMS’s parent company. “This certification will help us with future business opportunities to ensure even more families receive the help they need to thrive.”
