On Friday, December 6, 2024, HUD Office of Multifamily Programs sent an email to stakeholders to announce the posting of the new Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) Implementation Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document.

These FAQs will help property owners and management agents better understand how to meet compliance requirements for HOTMA. Some highlights include:

1. Information on the phase-in hardship relief provision as detailed in the HOTMA final rule
2. Information about HOTMA-compliant Tenant Selection Plans (TSPs) at Management and Occupancy Reviews (MORs)
3. Information on use of the rent-override function in TRACS 202D up until the newly established July 1, 2025 compliance date
