Updated Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Forms Available
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has released updated Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) forms, now available on HUDCLIPS, with an OMB expiration date of January 31, 2028. These forms are essential in ensuring housing protections for individuals who have experienced domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
As a property owner or management agent, you are responsible for distributing these updated forms, at move-in for new tenants and with any adverse action notices.
Please ensure that you are using the latest versions of these critical documents:
- Form HUD-5380 – Notice of Occupancy Rights
- Form HUD-5382 – Certification of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, or Stalking
These forms, along with additional HUD VAWA resources, should be made readily available to residents. Providing this information helps ensure that tenants understand their rights and access the protections they are entitled to under the law.
