On April 16, 2025, our office received guidance from HUD HQ regarding assessing a penalty for not using EIV in its entirety. HUD states that a 5% penalty deduction from vouchers must be assessed if missing at least one EIV report. This guidance applies to both the tenant and master file reports.

Please be sure to review your EIV policies and procedures to ensure you are pulling your reports as required. Also, check your printer settings to confirm dates are printing to reflect the dates EIV reports are generated. As a reminder, handwritten dates on reports are not sufficient for documenting when reports were generated.
