HUD Publishes FY 2026 Section 811 Project Rental Assistance NOFO

HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing Programs has announced the Fiscal Year 2026 Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), published on May 11, 2026.

HUD has made $158 million available through the FY 2026 Section 811 PRA NOFO to expand affordable housing opportunities for extremely low-income people with disabilities.

The funding will support project-based rental assistance that helps eligible residents access integrated, community-based housing paired with voluntary supportive services that promote independent living.

These funds help bridge the gap between what eligible tenants can afford and the HUD-approved rent, providing long-term housing stability for individuals with disabilities.

The NOFO also supports stronger partnerships between state housing agencies, healthcare systems, and community service providers to improve housing access and long-term resident success.

Key highlights include:

  • $158 million in available funding
  • Support for extremely low-income adults with disabilities
  • Expansion of integrated, community-based housing options
  • Encouragement of state-level collaboration and supportive services partnerships
  • Application deadline: July 13, 2026

Eligible organizations are encouraged to review the NOFO requirements and begin preparing application materials promptly. Review the FY 2026 Section 811 PRA NOFO and determine your organization’s eligibility to apply.
